Congratulations to Gene Grimsley, Britton Yarborough, Lee Moore, and April Guerriero for being the top male and female runners in the 5K and 10K respectively. In addition, it was great to see some of Florence's top runners supporting a great cause. Paul Frazier, Amy, and all the Ebenezer Baptist Church volunteers put on an enjoyable race. Ebenezer Baptist Church isn't only making a difference in our local community, but in many places around the world with their mission work. We are blessed to have them in our community.
Our next race that we'll be timing is the Titan Trot in two weeks on February 25th. Also, we're in the planning stage for our race, Race for Taylor, that we direct, organize, and time which is on May 19th. Mark your calendars to attend. Our goal is 300 runners this year, but even if you can't run it, we need volunteers and spectators. It's not the race that makes it a great event, it's the people! So come, bring your friends and family. We are also looking for sponsors as well.
A big thanks to the Florence County Sheriff's Department and the City of Florence Police Department. They do a great job supporting the running community and all of these races. Without them it wouldn't be possible to put on a great road race. Take time to thank them for their awesome support and the work they do for our community everyday.
